Aida Rostami, a general practitioner at Chamran Hospital in Tehran, went missing on December 12, 1401. Her body was delivered to her family one day later, falsely claimed to be the result of a “car accident.” However, her family observed signs of torture on her body and face. Rostami had been providing medical care to injured protesters during the 1401 uprising in Iran, particularly in the western areas of Tehran, especially the Ekbatan neighborhood. She visited the homes of injured protesters, providing treatment. After the news of her torture and death was broadcast, media affiliated with the Islamic Republic changed their narrative from a “car accident” to “falling from a pedestrian bridge.
