Hossein Mahdipour was a sociology teacher and labor activist in Sistan-Baluchestan Province, Iran. On May 2, 2023, coinciding with Teacher’s Day in Iran, he was attacked by unknown assailants. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries three days later. Mahdipour was also known for being the administrator of a Telegram channel called Teachers’ Demands, where he actively advocated for the rights of teachers and workers. His untimely death has been described as an assassination by the Iranian Teachers’ Union’s Coordination Council.
