During the uprising of 1401, on Saturday, the 16th of Mehr, instead of going to school, Abdolfazl Adinehzadeh participated in nationwide protests in the city of Mashhad. At 11 a.m., Islamic Republic authorities injured him by striking his neck with a shocker, and then, they shot over 70 rubber bullets at Abdolfazl Adinehzadeh in front of the northern gate of Ferdowsi University in Mashhad. His injured and “shattered” body was taken to the hospital, where 27 bullets were removed by doctors, and he lost his life shortly afterward. His family had been threatened that they would only deliver Abdolfazl’s body to them if they accepted his “Basiji” (volunteer paramilitary) status. In his death certificate, it is mentioned that he was killed due to gunshot wounds to his kidneys and liver. According to hospital doctors, the shooting occurred at a distance of less than 1 meter. After this incident, Islamic Republic authorities pressured Ali Adinehzadeh, Abdolfazl’s father, to remain silent and not publicize his son’s death.
